SESSION_SAVE_EVERY_REQUEST = True
(in settings.py)

seems to avoid a lot of potential bugs from forgetting to set
request.session.modified = True when necessary.

Is this a serious performance problem?  If not, I would think this
would be a good *default* value for Django no?
