http://code.google.com/p/django-ldap-groups/ It has a backend with both
eDirectory and Active Directory sub-classes. Don't know what you might
be using but it works well for eDirectory. Shouldn't be too hard to
create others.
If your roles are going to be based on django auth I recommend Peter's
approach. It lets you create a 1:1 relationship between specified ldap
groups (in my case Novell Netware security groups) and nominated django
groups in your application.
