You do not necessarilly need a full lamp stack. Use Cherrpy (or similar) and SQLite for example. If you have each machine Its useful in situations like this. One person has something on their desktop. They realise it would be useful for others to be able to share the data. You copy it to a small server (so its always on) and everyone uses that. No inconsistency, and only one copy of the stack.
