That bit looks like it might cause trouble. You are assigning status to
status. Normally you'd want something like...
{% for status in statuses %}
or
{% for status in status_list %}
or
{% item in status %}
Use whatever variable names you want as long as you're not clobbering
variables that are needed while looping.
