And then I don't need to go to a different website for each group I belong to just to see new activity. They all come to me via email (the actual content - not a notice to go to the site - uhg.) and I can respond right there (something you can't do with feeds). And with google groups, you still get the benefits of a forum for those who don't want to use email. They can read and reply right on the site.
