Just make a ticket for it. Perhaps, put me in the Cc. I might
provide a patch, or not, I'm not having plenty of spare time
currently. I have a rudimentary understanding of how SQL is
generated.

How do you think would a cache interfere? You mean the query set
cache, or anything else? This thread might be better continued in
the devel list, which I follow much more thoroughly.
