In the app I am building for data analysis, I want all logged in users to be able to access all parts of the system, but only to have access to the datafiles they hae uploaded themselves. Can I use django.contrib.auth to filter the full list of datafiles according to the user object? If so, how do I go about this? I'm thinking of attaching a user_id field to the file when it is uploaded, and then filtering against that wen a logged in user goes to the list of files, but I'm not sure how I would implement this.
