Follow-up: just for good measure could you tell me what you have in your settings for `LANGUAGE_CODE` and what languages you are trying to support? If by some small chance you are trying to support a language not apart of this set <https://github.com/django/django/tree/1.4/django/conf/locale>, an issue could occur with threading.
