I hadn't heard of Movable Python before, but this sounds like a solution for people like students who may be sharing a computer lab in odd moments (although I'm surprised that a commercial product is needed here -- I would have thought that building an executable Python for a self-cotnained USB stick wouldn't be rocket science). If you were really keen, it would be great if you would write up these instructions in the Django wiki (http://code.djangoproject.com/wiki ) so that we could point people to it later. Without actually doing all the work -- just reading through your instructions -- they look pretty sensible to me.
