TypeError is raised when asgi_redis tries to open a connection to redis:

It looks like there's some package version incompatibility, any clue is
welcome :)
OS: Ubuntu Xenial
Channels: 1.1.2
Daphne: 1.2.0
Django: 1.10.6
Twisted: 17.1.0
asgi_redis: 1.2.1
redis pip package: 2.10.5
