Hi. I am new to django too and recently found this eye opening tutorials by Vitor Freitas ( https://simpleisbetterthancomplex.com/series/beginners-guide/1.11/) and I hope it will help.
I wish the django's main tutorial may be changed to favor new people by explaining some of the concepts.
