Don't be afraid to start using newforms based on the documentation (including the unit tests). It's not bad, when you actually start using it. Search this group when you have a problem. I found that most of the problems that I get using newforms were already answered here. There are also good working examples on the group and djangosnippets.org or http://www.google.com/search?q=django+newforms+examples.
