I'd love to know this too. I've had nothing but pain trying to separate models, and dealing with circular import issues. I spent a week trying to make mine work well (any model or import changes felt a lot like playing a round of jinga), and finally gave up and went back to an absurdly large single file. It's been really frustrating, but seems more of a python limitation than anything.
