It looks like you have a search view that uses form POST data, and you
want a shortcut to be able to show a predetermined search. So if you
were a clothing store, you might want to use a link click to show all
the Jackets, another all the Pants, etc. I think the best way to
handle that is to not try and wrap the search view, but wrap both the
search and link views around a second function that dates the search
dict you are trying to make by messing with post.
def do_search(searchdata):
.... do stuff
return render_to_response(things)
def traditional(request,styleid):
.... build search data dict
return do_search(searchdatadict)
def searchresult(request):
... process search form, build search data dict
return do_search(searchdatadict)
