I'm slowly learning Django. I'd like to run 1.0 and 0.96 side by side, running on Windows XP. Right now, I only have version 0.96 installed.
My ideal scenario would be to be able to use either: from django096.conf.urls.defaults import * or from django.conf.urls.defaults import * to switch back and forth between the two. I'm wondering if I could just rename \site-packages\django (currently 0.96) to \site-packages\django096, and then install 1.0 from scratch. But I am afraid that there are 0.96 hooks in all sorts of other places, and I'll end up with a big ugly mess if I try this. Does anyone have ideas on running 0.96 and 1.0 side by side safely?
