I'm looking for a passionate co-founder to help me build a novel and meaningful start-up using Django. In a nutshell, Insightica (working name) is about making scientific modeling accessible and fun. This might sound impossible, but I have the proven technology and the great new concept to make it happen. Over the past two years I have been the lead developer of an advanced scientific simulation program. This program carries out a visual approach where modelers require only a middle school level of mathematics to start constructing models (though much more advanced techniques are available) and is easily adaptable to web applications.
What Insightica will be is a social, fun, and vibrant model sharing community. It will let users create, share, and talk about the models, each of which will be called an "Insight" as they will typically reveal some fundamental point about a phenomenon. Communities will form around different types of models. For example, there will be a large "Green" community working on different climate change and resource consumption models. This type of work will make people incredibly passionate and involved in the site and help to quickly grow its user base in a viral manner. Other major model users will be business managers and their consultants, Economists, school and university teachers, and just about anyone who has ever dreamed about creating a simple simulation. Making this happen is too big for me by myself though. I need a dedicated co-founder who will throw himself/herself into this with me. This is going to change the world in a meaningful way and I need a partner to make it a reality.
