What you're trying to do is simple enough to write out in flowchart form on a sheet of paper. You should do that, then write some code, then ask for help with specifics when you get stuck, or are trying to decide between different approaches. What your e-mail sounds like, whether you intend it or not, is asking other people to do your work for you. If you have any specific questions (more specific than 'how to implement a workflow like that'), then by all means ask them.
