Great America Raver Day - Sunday, September 23rd,
2001
Meeting Times: 12Noon (Front Gate after you enter
the park)
2nd Meeting time: 4:20pm Splat City (Nickelodeon
Area)
This is a notice for you all letting you know that
we're scheduling Raver Day on the 32rd of
septeber. It's not going to be on August
12th as we had planned..
Here's the story... We tryed to aim for August 12th
because that was a good timespot.
Especially after Tektite's Sunprotect party
coming up, it'd be a great kicker for a
weekend. We had our original date for Great
America Raver day on July 1st. Then
without notice.. I believe it was Brainchild.. or someone decided it'd be cool to throw a Raver day with only one BSP and hardly any notice the day before (June 30th). They advertised it to the 13-16 year old crowd I believe. Well when that night came,
there was a very small attendance.. but a very
big drug problem. The people that did show
were fairly irresponsible just like the group that handled it, so after that time, Great America decided not to throw anymore parties like that. In return.. we were
denied to have any sound inside the park
and electronic entertainment for fear that a
reoccurance will happen. Whoever threw the
wanna-be-raverday on the 30th ruined the
plans that we had for a great event.
Anyways, we did get assurance that over the course
to the next year, we will be working with Great
America to ensure that we can have an event with
music like we had originally
planned...unfortunately it will be next year.
Until then, we plan to still have another
get-together kickass event at Great
America. We need to show them how responsible we really are and show our support for an event to enjoy not only the rides, but the music as well.
