Thank you for your kind words about Rich Laxamana! I will forward what you
have wrote to him, I'm sure he will appreciate it! Rich and myself (Twin
Spin) have known each other for a long time. I remember starting off as a DJ
14 years ago, not knowing what I was doing and having no guidance or someone
to lead the way. I felt so lost! But eventually over time, a lot of time
and lots of practice, I got the hang of it! But thinking back on how
frustrated I was feeling trying to learn on my own is what gave me the idea
to open this school! I get tons of e-mails from aspiring DJ's who want to
learn but have no one to teach them. Well, now they have somewhere to go to
learn the basics and practice. But we do not teach them their style....they
need to develop that themselves. We only teach them the basics that are
needed to have a clean mix, scratch, transitions, etc. It's up to each
individual to make up their own unique style and flavor. That's what makes
DJing an art!
I proposed this whole DJ school idea to Rich because I wanted to take my
passion for music and DJing to a different level and teach the art of this
crazy, but exciting thing we call DJing. Rich was all for it! So this is
how we developed Rhythm Records DJ Academy.
Rich was kind enough to allow me to run this school in his record store in
San Jose and even give discounts on records to the students that sign up!
That's is why my price is so low, because I have low overhead cost to run
this school. Rich has been spinning about as long as I have and he does have
mad skills! I have nothing but much respect for Rich Laxamana.
Sorry everyone if this e-mail was kind of long. I just wanted you all to
know my mission and intent behind my school. We have got a huge response
from people about this school already! Thank you to all the people that have
