Well, the difference between your chris rock example and af is that one is a company that relies on the approval of millions of consumers, the other is a bad ass comedian. and comedians get away with some pretty harsh shit, that i too find really funny sometimes. but what bugs me about af is that NO ONE in the company stopped and thought, 'hmmm.. this might make people mad.' i mean DUH!!! and you know that shirt went through a lot of people before hitting the stores. any business person knows that if you're trying to make your product popular, you're going to have it appeal to as many people as possible, unless you've got some some special rebel cause. and af is anything but a rebellious product...in my opinion. and then their retarded PR guy said they thought it would be funny.. which is just a dumb thing to say when you've already pissed off thousands of people.
sure it may be seen as uptight to criticize a joke about ethnicity, but i think that af should think about the effects their products have on their image. chris rock is an individual, af is not. i think the shirt is a statement about their entire company. my 4 cents. -maria --- -=Psykoral=- <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Yeah I heard about that whole T-shirt thing... > I think the one your talking about involves > a comment on the way some Asian's pronounce > certain words...
