Sheesh... People need to stop being so skeptical about promoters/production crews... For the most part, they are NOT Satan in disguise, trying to rip everyone off... It is becoming more and more difficult to land a solid venue, at a reasonable price... and there are NEVER any guarantees (even when contracts are signed, and permits are obtained). Heh, for our most recent party, we lost THREE venues before we found the place the event was eventually held at (which was found 2 days before the party)... but we worked our asses off trying to locate a venue so that the party would still go on...
Seriously, there is a LOT of work put into throwing a good party, and unfortunately, there are a lot of obstacles along the way. Losing a venue just seems like one of the most common... So PLEASE, have at least a little faith in the promoters in trying to do what's right. You'd be surprised at how few parties there would be if promoters just gave up after losing their first, or second, (or even third) venue. So yeah... try to be understanding... have a little faith... and keep on partying. But don't dog the crew for circumstances that are often beyond their control. More likely than not, they're just as pissed as everyone else is (if not more) for every lost venue/location change... Think about it... no crew would last long if they made it their business to rip everyone off... This community is too small, and word travels too quickly for any crew like that to survive. Okay...
