Eh, that private message was in response to something he posted in public. If he didn�t want to get flamed then it shouldn't have been posted at all.
And I have no sympathy for someone who tries to start shit on the list and then wants the responses to be private - if you're going to start shit, then expect to get called on it and not cry like a baby when peoples responses to it arn't nice. And _most_ importantly, if you are going to flame someone because you didn�t like the response they gave to your email then DON�T expect that to be kept private. If he doesn't want to get flamed, then he can publicly apologize for being misinformed, for jumping to conclusions and for trying to diss one party for another (now THAT's bad form).
