2001-06-26 11:35:53 Berita baru tercatat di situs PramukaNet DKI Jakarta: Gone home, Mr. John Liem Beng Kiat Gone home <P><br> The Gerakan Pramuka is in mourning due to the passing away of one of its long serving Commissioners i.e. Mr. John Liem Beng Kiat on Monday, at 16:00 hours at Harapan Kita Hospital Jakarta at age of 79. <br> He himself was a Queen Scout during colonial era. One of staunchest supporter of unity scout organizations in Indonesia prior to 1961, he joined the national leadership of Gerakan Pramuka in 1970, when he was appointed as National Commissioner for the first time.<P><p> His reappointment during these last 30 year term of office has made him the longest serving National Commissioner in the Gerakan Pramuka history.
