I this a bit overdue on my part, but I want to sincerely thank Facebook for hosting the DMARC Interop event two weeks ago. I'd also like to thank the entire DMARC group for their intelligent conversations that really showed how well thought-out DMARC is, even at this working group stage. It was great to meet many of you personally and clear up any confusion I may have had regarding DMARC.
Just to refresh your memory, I was one of the few "Independent Consultants" present at the meeting. Since I wasn't backed by a large company, nor was I backed by the sponsorship of any entity, I wasn't sure how effective I would be at this forum. The reality is this gamble paid off, thanks to the host's graciousness, and the rational thinking and teamwork of the group as a whole. My takeaways were not only to create a to-do list of action items for my code, but I also completed and tested a DMARC validation engine for Exchange Server. The duration of the Interop event (2 days) was effective for our stated purpose, and the overall structure made integration testing seamless with all the other vendors who participated. I'll refrain from naming individuals or companies on this open forum, but I want to thank you for the incredibly intelligent conversations we had, and the rational manner in which it was done. I think DMARC is in the hands of true leaders of the industry, is focused, and is capable of solving a specific real-world problem. I look forward to working with you all in the future, Chris Lamont Mankowski
