I noticed this in the acknowledgements of the DMARC spec:

The contributors would also like to recognize the
invaluable input and guidance that was provided by J.D. Falk.

And then I found his memorial. It also compelled me to go rummaging through the
contents of saved disk images, in search of a memory. I finally found exactly
what I was looking for, and guessed that this would be an appropriate place to
share it:

Subject: AboveNet wine glass

While removing Critical Path's NOC on-duty identification device
(also known as "the big green squooshy ball") from its temporary
resting place inside of a Sun Ultra Enterprise 2 chassis, a valued
member of our Production Operations group attempted an interesting
(but not officially condoned) ballistics experiment.

Unfortunately, the shape of our System Architect's head (which was
an interesting but not officially condoned part of this experiment)
is such that the trajectory of said object caused it (the object,
not the head) to fly a short distance through the local atmosphere
and intersect with my prized AboveNet wine glass.

As a result of this occurance, the glass proceeded to break into
not less than twenty-three (23) seperate parts. This also caused
the glass's contents, an uncounted number of small blue-green
marbles, to disperse across my desk.

If a suitable replacement for the wine glass cannot be obtained
in short order, I fear that I may very well lose my marbles.

        Does anyone have any suggestions?
