If I were Google, I would keep mum and hope that people who were losing messages from their groups mail would exert pressure on Yahoo subscribers to switch to another provider like, say, Gmail, without any overt pressure from Google. Also, it is my impression that in the overall picture of Google, the mail part of groups (as opposed to the web part) is a freckle on a wart too small for anyone to notice.
