Actually I think I agree with most or all of that. My concern has to do with where a DKIM neophyte goes to get a complete description of DKIM.
He goes to 6376, and should notice the "updated by" in the RFC index. There's a bazillion RFCs updated by later RFCs so this doesn't seem unduly difficult.
As incremental RFCs go, this is pretty simple. Try and find all the RFCs you need to implement SASL for AUTH in SUBMIT, for example.
