The same thing happens over and over. Someone invents a mail authentication scheme which works for a lot of mail, but not all mail. Then they roll it out, and its enthusiasts blame the victim as they try to redefine the mail that it doesn't handle as "spoofed" or otherwise illegimate. This happened with SPF, and it's sure happening again with DMARC. Can't wait to see what the next magic bullet aimed at our foot is.
