This version was published in response to Murray's AD Evaluation. The diff between this and rev -33 will be quite extensive, but much of the diff is due to punctuation changes from single quotes to double quotes.
The AD Evaluation also resulted in the opening of three issues in GitHub: - Issue 155 <https://github.com/ietf-wg-dmarc/draft-ietf-dmarc-dmarcbis/issues/155>, regarding the working group's perceived failure to fully address the problem with indirect mail flows - Issue 156 <https://github.com/ietf-wg-dmarc/draft-ietf-dmarc-dmarcbis/issues/156>, regarding the Tree Walk and what to do if the first query of the Tree Walk returns a DMARC Policy record that includes a "psd=y" tag - Issue 157 <https://github.com/ietf-wg-dmarc/draft-ietf-dmarc-dmarcbis/issues/157>, regarding clarifying language as to whether or not reports should be sent to addresses found in DMARC Policy Records that contain a "psd=y" tag I will start individual discussion threads for each of these issues, and humbly request that you follow the links to the issues and read what's written there before contributing to the thread. ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: <[email protected]> Date: Mon, Oct 21, 2024 at 11:41 AM Subject: New Version Notification for draft-ietf-dmarc-dmarcbis-34.txt To: Todd M. Name: draft-ietf-dmarc-dmarcbis Revision: 34 Title: Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) Date: 2024-10-21 Group: dmarc Pages: 79 URL: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ietf-dmarc-dmarcbis-34.txt Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-dmarc-dmarcbis/ HTML: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ietf-dmarc-dmarcbis-34.html HTMLized: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ietf-dmarc-dmarcbis Diff: https://author-tools.ietf.org/iddiff?url2=draft-ietf-dmarc-dmarcbis-34 Abstract: This document describes the Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) protocol. DMARC permits the owner of an email's Author Domain (#author-domain) to enable validation of the domain's use, to indicate the Domain Owner's (#domain-owner) or Public Suffix Operator's (#public-suffix- operator) message handling preference regarding failed validation, and to request reports about the use of the domain name. Mail receiving organizations can use this information when evaluating handling choices for incoming mail. This document obsoletes RFCs 7489 and 9091.
