The IESG has approved the following document: - 'Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) Failure Reporting' (draft-ietf-dmarc-failure-reporting-24.txt) as Proposed Standard
This document is the product of the Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Andy Newton and Orie Steele. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-dmarc-failure-reporting/ Technical Summary Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) is a mechanism by which a Domain Owner can request feedback about email messages using their domain in the From: address field. This document describes "failure reports," or "failed message reports", which provide details about individual messages that failed to authenticate according to the DMARC mechanism. Working Group Summary The DMARC working group has suffered from lack of progress for many years. After the group delivered on two milestones, it was shuttered without the realization that there was a dependency on this document. Once rechartered, the group had to find consensus about proceeding with this document. The decision was made to proceed. Document Quality Implementations exist. OpenDKIM is one of them; the rest are commercial. There were no substantial changes to the document following Last Call review. Personnel The Document Shepherd for this document is Murray Kucherawy. The Responsible Area Director is Andy Newton. IANA Note The sole IANA action requested is trivial and appears to be well formed. _______________________________________________ dmarc mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
