Please find below the main outcome of the last DMM FPSM telco from 28th January 2015.
Best regards, Marco --- Confirmation of items from IETF91 and previous telco: Adopt DPN (data plane node) term for any node in the data plane which offers data-plane functions to the controlling application and receives policies from the controlling application. Whether a DPN functions as anchor or access specific gateway is up to the deployment and the rules which it enforces. Single flow can traverse multiple DPNs, each enforcing policies as per the control application's policies. First draft with a solution to be circulated for discussion (distributed on 21st January 2015). Results from discussion about first solution draft: Agreed reference architecture comprises Clients and Agents. Clients are used by application control functions (e.g. LMA Control-Plane), Agents are co-located with network control functions, e.g. an SDN controller. The FPSM protocol operates between a Client and an Agent and utilizes a general model for policy configuration. The Agent maps the FPSM protocol to DPN technology specific control to enforce the policies in the data-plane though the SDN control function. Agreed model for policy configuration; based on logical ports to which properties (tunnel type, QoS, etc.) are bound. Forwarding rules specify which traffic is directed to which logical port. All traffic being directed to a logical port experiences the same policies (QoS, encapsulation rules, tunnel endpoint, etc.) First set of protocol messages and protocol attributes discussed. Next steps: Reflect ongoing eMail discussion and contributions in an update of the draft. Publish first draft asap to solicit feedback. Plan for first upload to IETF repository: week of 16th Feb 2015. From: dmm [mailto:dmm-boun...@ietf.org] On Behalf Of Marco Liebsch Sent: Mittwoch, 28.
