Hi Yu,
Which version of DMTCP are you using? Could you use
dmtcp-2.4.0-rc2? In that case, the best environment variable
to use will be: DMTCP_RESTART_PAUSE2
  DMTCP_RESTART_PAUSE2=1 dmtcp_launch a.out
[ Then create a checkpoint image as usual. ]
  ./dmtcp_restart_script.sh
  [ or: dmtcp_restart ckpt_*.dmtcp ]
It will print to the screen, and give you 15 seconds to
attach to the process using GDB. Let us know if this works
for you.

Best wishes,
- Gene

Subject: [Dmtcp-forum] MTCP_RESTART_PAUSE issue

Hi,

I have an issue on how to debug the program after the dmtcp restart the
checkpoint. The sample program is attached. I read the Q&A link, which say
that I can set up MTCP_RESTART_PAUSE environment variable to pause the
program and then gdb can attach the process. However, I try several times
and it doesn't work.

Could you give me some help on this?

Thanks in advance.
