Of course I will test that when it shows up. But if it doesn't work, for my purposes at least I can probably just keep using rc1 on the 32 bit netbook; it seems to work fine (better than both 2.3 and rc2, rc3). > * If DMTCP is failing for a 64-bit O/S right now in ocaml, then we can > start testing that immediately. We'll direct our efforts there. On my 64 bit 13.7.7 kernel, it is not failing for me specifically with ocaml, and it is not failing with the control-C. What I found on this system was that some of the checkpointed language shells, for each of python, R, and ocaml, segfaulted upon restart. When they did run, control-C worked okay and there were no subsequent problems I detected. I have not kept testing since I got a version of the ocaml that I needed that is working okay now. Never segfaults on restart, and control-C works fine. This occasional segfaulting seems to be a very strange problem, so although I have no other detectable issues with my system right now, I suggested earlier that it may be worth discounting this one report and attributing it to potential hardware issues. I don't know if you have any ideas on how one could confirm it really is a problem with dmtcp. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ One dashboard for servers and applications across Physical-Virtual-Cloud Widest out-of-the-box monitoring support with 50+ applications Performance metrics, stats and reports that give you Actionable Insights Deep dive visibility with transaction tracing using APM Insight. http://ad.doubleclick.net/ddm/clk/290420510;117567292;y _______________________________________________ Dmtcp-forum mailing list Dmtcp-forum@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dmtcp-forum
