Phasing occurs when you have two waveforms, and you move the
time between them (e.g one speeds up and slows down). In an
effects unit, this can be a great sound - pretty warped,
becuse it is controlled, and the waves are moving in and out
of time from eachother (generally controlled by an LFO).
Phasing problems with music occur when there is some time
delay (a typical example would be two mics slightly apart in
a room, though it would be less relevant to d'n'b). When
the waves are constantly out of phase, you can get
constructive and destructive interference, which means the
waves can build together or fight against eachother either
building to make a louder combination, or quiter...
generally this will give a weird sound as well as it affects
the sound in s similar manner. Hmmm don't know how clear
that is, or if its what you're referring to but a start I
guess...

Subject: [dnb-prod] What is Phasing?

To whom it may concern:
If anyone would be so kind as to tell me what Phasing is i
would appreciate
it so much. All I know is that it is something you do not
want to do in a
song because the presses cannot press the sound well.
