I think dissonance with sweet sounds is a combination I might use more. For
a start you can hear the dissonance without it turning into a mush, which is
easy with distorted sounds and also the combination sounds less cliched.
Dissonance with a dark bass often sounds too obviously evil and mellow
arpeggios with sweet sounds is equally overdone. With a jazzy feel you can
get away with sweet dissonance without it sounding wrong and create an dark
atmosphere without it sounding tired.

I remember Chance commenting on one of my live tracks saying it sounded
good, but he wanted a subversive element. I think I know what he means now.
The track sounded like a funk band playing funk, wheras it should have been
a funk band playing something else.
