I've recently reformatted my hard disk and
reinstalled all my music software. After starting Cubase after reinstalling it,
I've discovered that in the ASIO Device drop down box in the Audio / System
menu, there is only the Direct X Full Duplex driver listed...I'm not too good
with audio, but prior to me reinstalling Cubase, I could select either Direct X
or another one, which I'm not sure about (I think it might have been MME???).
The problem is that although the Direct X drivers give low latency, they cause
the audio playback to be extremely choppy - this didn't happen when I had the
other drivers selected.
I'm using an SBLive Platinum 5.1 (I know they
aren't the best...) - but does anyone have any idea as to why I can only select
Direct X and why the other selection has vanished?
I hope this makes sense, and thanks in
advance...
James
