I've run into similar errors w/ my TDK burner. 
Basically, audio software is pretty damn shady.  The
more stuff you install on your box, the more unstable
the OS gets.  And with WinXP as new as it is, it's
already going to be prone to this kind of thing.  The
only way I've ever managed to defeat these kinds of
problems is by formatting and reinstalling.  In
addition, the *order* in which you install apps is
crucially important, as they all overwrite various
.dlls in the /win/system directories.  So the only
solution (that I'm aware of) is to format, reinstall
the OS, install the audio apps in a different order
(and maybe the drivers), and see if it works.  Repeat
until functionality is achieved.

Sorry for the rather unpleasant fix.  :/
