is anything ever TOTALLY finished? what if
someone just wanted some feedback? I was under the impression that
this what this list was created for.. If the only thing ever
posted was completed finished, polished tracks, then this list might as well
change it's name to the 'dubplate list'. I thought this list was created so
dnb producers could share ideas, finished or not. Or maybe I missed the point
of the producers list...yea, maybe it's all me. maybe i'm
crazy...
>1) people will have already listened to it
and formed an opinion and 2) a slight re-edit will not change peoples mind if
they think its a shit tune anyway.
In a way, i see your point. for example, i
haven't posted any tunes here b/c i don't have something that I'm perfectly
happy with, at least enough to send it to a global producers list. But
following your logic as stated above, this list isn't for selling your tunes.
If it's a shit tune, this list would be the first place to find out that it's
a shit tune. I think that if the limitation is placed on posts that the tune
has to be finished and polished, it will defiantely limit the creativity. And
it should be the poster's decision if they think what they are posting is
great or crappy.
why don't you just ask the producers via email if
you can play their tunes? would anyone on the list have a problem with this?
if so, speak up...

Agreed... Hence my lack of links!

hi
i'm not sure it's OK, because almost
everytune that comes to the list ends up being edited after, so it
brings almost every tune here to the beta (or even alpha) state.
i think your best option is to keep listening and ask
personaly to the producer if he wants to pass the track to you.
dont you also think that this is better?
n.sekt
I think the best
idea would be for people to make sure when they throw a tune up here that
it is TOTALLY finished and will not be edited again and again. Constant re
edits and " hey listen to my track again with a naughty new snare " is no
good anyway because 1) people will have already listened to it and formed
an opinion and 2) a slight re-edit will not change peoples mind if they
think its a shit tune anyway.
Also I think its a good idea because
it will make you more confident as a producer to put out a track only when
you are 110% completeley satisfied with it yourself....... I mean you dont
see * insert top dnb producer name here* putting out tracks and going "ooh
shit I could have done that different". If your tracks are worth listening
to via this list then they should be playable to a wider audience, and if
you have your doubts about a track that you've let people listen to on
here but dont want played out to a wider audience then you should be
keeping them on your hard drive until you are satisfied that they have
reached a certain standard where you are happy with them being played out.
