Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: Windows XP, Yamaha A3000 & SCSI

Hello James,

If you go to www.ampfea.org/mailman/listinfo/a-list, there's a mailing list for the A-series samplers as well as an archive of loads of problems other a3k users have had, that you might find useful.  I think this problem has cropped up a couple of times before so someone on the list should be able to help you.

Cheers

Andy

Sorry about all the questions recently, but here's another one :-) ...

I'm having problems with Windows XP and my A3000 communicating via SCSI...

Basically, when I installed XP for the first time it detected about 6 or 7 instances of my A3000 - it did this in 98 too, but I just disabled all of them bar one in the Device Manager and it worked fine. Unfortunately in XP it re-detects them all on start up even when they have been disabled...Although this happened, Soundforge 5 and other apps recognised that the A3000 was connected and I could send and receive files between my PC and the A3000 fine....

Unfortunately though, the Waves plugins caused problems and I had to re-install XP, after I did this I still have the same multiple detection of the A3000 (which incidently prompts me for a driver for the A3000 - when it hasn't got one to my knowledge) but now, Soundforge etc won't detect the A3000 and only shows the SCSI hard disk in the sampler - meaning I can't transfer files...

Anyone got any ideas?
