Yeah man, i tried the exact same thing a while back and posted the detailed process on the list. My method is still up on the spinwarp site. You got a lot closer in sound quality than I did, but your programming of the rides is still off a bit. I think my biggest mistake was in the samples I started with. I really needed a much higher pitched version of the amen than what I used.
I would say give it another shot, just spend a little more time messing with the ride programming (you'll probably need to turn off the rigid quantise to get the feel just right. Also, when you're done, try distorting the whole break slightly. Trace and Dom used a lot of distortion on their breaks which generally accounts for their really upfront amen sounds. I think distorting it also takes some of the "cleanness" off of the ride and helps it flow with the rest of the break. trust ----- Original Message ----- From: larzmarz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, February 18, 2002 4:20 AM Subject: [dnb-prod] homemade firefight break - anyone try? - Here's mine > Has anyone tried recreating the "firefight" break using the "amen" and the "tighten > up?" I couldn't find a decent "firefight," so I started messing around with it.
