Hi Oberheim make really nice controller keyboards (better than most synth keyboards up to about 750) I'd just wait for the Virus (or a Supernova - see below) if i were you tho, cos you'll be about 350 better off and it'll be easier if you wait and use the cash for the KB,
Cheers Dan PS - Good news here too - thanks to my Barclaycard, i just got my grubby mitts on my new Supernova 2 rack (845 new from Soundslive website - steal!) - oh my god, this thing is f*cking awesome. I have dithered for about 18 months on a new synth and i am glad i chose this little baby. The sounds are pure liquid smooth, deep bass and floaty silk strings and pads (or all out metallic twisted anger). This is one quality piece of kit.... 24 voices on 8 MIDI channels (and 6 osc per voice in double saw mode!!!!)and 56 simultneous FX (reverb is a little tinny, but hey) and the filters are fat and a vocoder and inputs, plus a not inconsiderable 1024 decent presets to scroll thru before you have to start making your own patches. Highly recommended and its made in the UK too, which is nice... -----Original Message----- From: Nick Lankester [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 20 February 2002 04:08 To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List Subject: [dnb-prod] Suggestions for MIDI controller and DJ mixer ?? Thanks to the wonders of interest free credit cards I'm now in the market for a few badly needed bits and pieces for the studio... I've just bought a pair of 1210s from a friend but have no mixer... I don't want a crappy thing that's gonna fall apart in a couple of months but I don't want to spend hundreds and hundreds of pounds... Anyone got any suggestions ? All I really want it for is to mix 2 decks to one output, although multiple outs would be an advantage, as would CD/line inputs... I figure somewhere between 200 and 300 quid should be enough? I've also just realised that my new soundcard doesn't have a powered midi output... (which I rely on to power my existing controller keyboard)... Anyone got any suggestions for a replacement? At the moment I've just got a bog standard unweighted computer-type keyboard (forget which make... Not Evolution)... But If I'm gonna replace it I figure it would be nice to get something decent... My only requirements are that it has a standard MIDI in and out and an external Power supply... I've had a look on Digital Village's site but I could only find the cheap ones like the one I already have.. Anyone got a model/make or link to a nice one (possibly weighted and with other controllers etc...)... Or would I be better off just getting a synth that has a nice keyboard and using that? (I'm gonna get one.. Maybe a Virus... Within the next 6 months or so anyway).... Any thoughts at all are appreciated! Nick.. p.s. Anyone wanna buy a controller keyboard? ;) --- Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] DISCLAIMER: The Information in this message is confidential and may be legally privileged.
