i havent exactly done this. i have the boss syb3 (i think thats what its called). it 
basically takes the note i play on my bass and synthesises a new sound (sine, pwm sq, 
sq noise, pwm sq -1oct, erm...other waveforms too) using the pitch of the guitar :) 
its got res/cutoff/sens/decay controls too. its fucking sweet. ive also got a cry 
baby, and putting that after the boss gives pretty wild fx. ive also tried putting 
this through vst filters after the cry baby, but ive never managed to get a clean enuf 
sound (i have a
laptop w/ poor aureal vortex card) - way too much line noise. ive looked at the 
hammerfall dsp but its way out of my price range, so i guess its only a live tool for 
the mo.
