Hi
Uh oh,
elitism again...
I see
the point of you saying that its just beats speeded up, but if you use that
arguement lets dismiss d+b using the same reasons and listen to disco :-) (ok,
ok, just joking...)
How
can those Jungle Warfare series of CDs be classed as garbage when it would
cost someone around 5000 to buy all those records as originals or even reissues
(and theres only so many that can go around all the record collectors - surely
there comes a point when theres none left to hunt for). The CDs are clearly
extremely useful when making tunes and the majority of people may never get the
chance to get these sounds anywhere else, so at the end of the day whats the
problem? $100 is a bargain in my book to save 5000 and 15yrs searching for
obscure vinyl. I mean, i love trawling for old vinyl and buying tunes, but lets
be realistc eh? You get the beats wherever you can...

--------Original Message-----A while ago I recommended to anyone thinking of using sample cds to at least stay away from drum n bass sample CDs, and get your hands on HIP HOP sample cds instead. With all the talk of Jungle Warfare my curiousity was peaked (piqued?) and I auditioned my copy of JW 2 (I got it for free a long time ago as part of a gear trade and only skimmed it once). Slow down half the breaks and youll hear plain as day- funk/soul loops, disco loops, shit of old hip hop records (complete with vocal shouts and room reverb, etc). Its hilarious that people paid 100 bucks to essentially have someone PITCH SHIFT something up for them... Also kind of funny- on Jungle Frenzy theres a little "boing" sample in the "effects" section- I slowed it down and a whim and and it's LL cool J going "rock" (the bells)...
