hey does anybody know if the oxygen 8 would be a good midi controller for
hardware gear as well as softsynths? I noticiced it is advertized for the
soft synth thing mostly, which is cool but I need a keyboard to control the
presets on my emu e5000 while sequencing as well.

I've just bought one and its quality. I'm using it with my EMU and Virus. My old Roland one was a bit big for my desk and the extra controller knobs are handy. If you got some money spare then get one.
