Find the little blue
button on your mixer for the track you�re automating, it�s just above the pan
pot and probably says �off�, change it to �Touch�, �Latch� or �Write� � I
won�t explain the difference but �Latch is probably best � hit record and
tweak away. You�ll probably want to enable �Track Automation� in the arrange
window�s view menu and zoom in a bit. You should see your lovely new
automation data. Forget about A-Playback and B-Playback; they�re pretty much
obsolete in v5.

5.1 and automation/playback
Has anyone had problems with
automation, and playback a, b. I'm trying to record some filter sweeps,
manually by changing the autofilter values. In the arrange window it comes up
as an all white, fucked up box, but never actually records anything. midi in
from external sources works fine it seems. Fader automation does the same
exact thing, white staggered boxes, nothing recorded. Anyone run into the same
problem?? Thanks
