At a guess it's the Mic imputs, I have a 1402VLZ which states in the manual they upgraded the mic amps, I never use them so it was no advantage to me.
It's a verygood price for a 16 channel Mackie. I really rate them, though if i upgraded to a bigger desk I may get something a little warmer .. not sure, the Mackie's are very clean, designed for chart music I guess, but I guess you can add your own dirt. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 16 April 2002 18:08 > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: mixing boards (mackie CR1604VLZ??) > > > i've heard alot of things about behringer's which many > people in pro audio now say is completely untrue. i > really need to sit down and play around with some > equipment myself, but i've heard from numerous people > that the behringer quality arguement simply isn't true > anymore. anyone have any solid proof either way? > > also, the price at zzounds for $350 is for the mackie > cr1604vlz, which is discontinued and has been replaced > by the 1604vlz. anyone know the difference??? zzounds > has 5 left, i gotta act quick on that one... > > much appreciated > > -a > > On Tue, 16 April 2002, "Scott Bradley" wrote > > > > > You are buying Mackie monitors and are considering > getting a Behringer ? > > > > Behringers are cheaper for a reason, they use low > grade components. > > I've heard they are more prone to blowing up. > > > > Do yourself a favour, get a Mackie.
