Hi,

I've never taken anything to be mastered professionally but I do know that most places
don't even like you bringing in WAV files full stop! I think they prefer CD audio.. (I
could be wrong though)...

Also, I'm 99% sure that no 32 bit cards exist! (at least they didn't a few months ago
when I was buying one!

Good luck!

Nick

Subject: [dnb-prod] 32bit mastering/vinyl bass frequency border

Hey folks,

does anyone of you know if it's useful to bring 32bit wavefiles
to the cutting/mastering studio? is the quality improvement really that big?
(buzztracker uses 32bit internally)
also, do you know if cutting studios have 32bit soundcards available for
playback for the cut?

and... what is the lowest level of bass allowed/meaningful on vinyl?
50hz? or shouldn't it be lower?

afaik, the cuts i witnessed so far cut almost anything well below 50 hz,
but boosted something around 50hz
to enhance the bass a little...

cheers,

christian
