Before using Cubase definitely read some of the manual.
The most important part is understanding what Cubase is.
It's an audio/midi sequencer. It doesn't come with samples.
I suggest you learn more about midi and how to use it.
Another thing you need to know is what a VST is since you don't have any
hardware. There are virtual instruments such as synths and samplers that can
provide you with sounds to sequence in Cubase.
I don't know what version of Fruity Loops you use but the latest versions
have VST support.
One more thing most people will tell you is to not use the samples that come
with Fruity Loops. Make/sample your own sounds.

It will most likely NOT come to you overnight. When I first played with
Cubase I was completely baffled. Then after 6 months of reading about it and
playing with other programs like Reason it made a lot more sense.
