Anyone have any success with producing on a laptop? I'm curious as to what your setup is. Right now I have a 1.1G Toshiba Satellite with 512MB RAM and an EMI 2|6 under XP. So far my sessions only last about 15 minutes with Cubase or Nuendo rewired with Reason. The CPU use doesn't seem stable enough to run proper after a few tracks get going. I'm thinking its the USB connection with the EMI that's hurting me but I'm not sure. My system completely froze last month running Cubase with Reason and after a reboot it couldn't find the hard drive so I had to reformat. I've pretty much eliminated all the glam animations and menu shadows in XP this time around though I doubt that stuff really hurt me since I have a GeForce2Go video card. I'm thinking about running Reason alone to make my tracks and then mixing them down in Nuendo from now on but I would like to have both since I hate using the Reason sequencer.
