Well it's time for me to finally buy a midi controller keyboard. I've heard time and time again to simply get an old used keyboard with a midi out and to use that. However, I've recently been looking at the oxygen 8 from midiman. It seems a little simpler to just use a USB keyboard that I can plug in and go. My question is this: Is there really a big difference between a dedicated midi controller keyboard like the midiman, and an older used midi keyboard? Will I get any extra benefit for paying the extra $$$? I guess I should specify my application as well. I have no other hardware, all I'll be using is logic, reason, and some softsynths.
